South Hill Park 1-2-1 Workshop

South Hill Park is situated in the south of Bracknell and is made up of the house and grounds of an 18th century mansion with the Ringmead road separating the two parts, the grounds to the north are taken up by a large park and lake with a woodland at the far north, visiting fairgrounds and other events make use of the field from time to time. Parking is available. The southern part is dominated by South Hill Park Arts Centre and Wilde Theatre in the former mansion house and also includes the Atrium Bar and Restaurant behind the house is a second smaller park, woodland and lake, both giving plenty of subjects for photography.

I’ll help you to get off the Auto setting and be in full control of your images, showing you the right settings for what you are trying to achieve in your shots, the different modes and when to use them, different techniques and tips in composition and lighting and show you how to develop your ‘photographers eye’.

There are both weekday and weekend slots available and morning and afternoon times on those days, morning winter sessions will start at 8am to make the most of the morning light and will end by around 11am, afternoon sessions will run from 12pm to around 3pm and will almost be sunset by that point.

What you'll need:

  • Your camera (hopefully with manual controls, if not a camera can be provided)

  • Tripod (preferable)

  • Suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and time of year
